Derrick is a native from Youngstown, Ohio
A.k.a “The Alchemist” Derrick has the unique ability to take nothing and turn it into something. he wrote, directed and starred in his first short film “ Atonement” for a meager budget of $6.99 and sold it out the trunk of his car, making over $2000!!!
As a touring stand up comedian Derrick has worked with various comedians including, Tony Roberts, Marcus Combs, Howie Bell. Damon Williams
In 2014 Derrick relocated to Los Angeles starring in several indie movies, short films, television , commercials and theater and begin working with 2x Grammy award nominee and R&B Legend Karyn White they produced together, he directed , co wrote and co starred in the critically acclaimed independent feature film “Gale & The Storm” which is loosely based on the R&B singers life currently streaming online.
Derrick is currently working as Film Producer, Film Consultant and Vice President of Supernova Unlimited, Inc a Multimedia company that specializes in music, film, television and branding.

Filmmaker/Actor Derrick Muhammad is a native from Youngstown, Ohio
Derrick aka “The Alchemist” has the unique ability to take nothing and turn it into something.
After watching Master P movie in 1998 “ Bout It, Bout It, caused an internal explosion giving birth to his creative powers of filmmaking alchemy. Derrick then wrote, directed and starred in his first short film “ Atonement” for a meager budget of $6.99 and sold it out the trunk of his car, making over $2000!!!
As a touring stand up comedian Derrick has worked with various comedians including, Tony Roberts, Marcus Combs, Howie Bell, Shawn Morgan, Damon Williams.
After having success in the insurance business for several years, he sold his agency and got back in the entertainment business starring in several indie movies, short films, television , commercials and theater.
Derrick relocated to Los Angeles and begin working with 2x Grammy award nominee Singer Karyn White they produced several film projects together. Dramatic Web Series “Finding Forever” Created and Directed by Stacey Muhammad , Ava Duvernay’s protege and Producer/ Journalist & TV personality Marc Lamont Hill.
Derrick co wrote, directed and starred along side Karyn White in the critically acclaimed feature Indie film “Gale & The Storm” which is loosely based on the R&B singers life and Jay King Legendary Music Producer and Founder of Grammy Award Winning group Club Nouvea . The movie and soundtrack was self distributed worldwide on several different platforms including iTunes, Amazon Prime. Derrick is currently serving as Film Distributor for Urban Home Entertainment.
